Crazy Chinese Night!

Ellie is better, but it was a rough night. She continued to vomit to where she was listless. We were taken to a hospital that was crazy! It was filthy and they wanted to take blood and do an ultrasound. We only wanted her to get fluids or some kind of suppository, but they insisted and we had to leave. The doctor was very upset with us. Our guide called the FTIA Beijing office and they sent us to another doctor that was not in. So we again hopped a cab to another SOS Emergency room where this doctor spoke English..he was from South Africa.. and tried to turn us away because he wasn't a pediatric specialist. Dale begged him and he finally treated her. They were wonderful! She had 2 bags of fluid through an IV. She hardly flinched when they put it in. She is bouncing around this morning. Doctor said we can go to the Great Wall as long as we promise not to try to climb. We got home at 3:00 am, but somehow we are not tired. We were really paniced and know that grandparents are saying a "We told you to leave her with us!". Who knows what started it all, but we seem to be good today. We will keep you up do date. Yesterday I saw the Heavenly Palace and toured the Chinese Ethnic Center. I saw where the opening games of the Olympics will be held. It was great, but I worried about Ellie the whole time. We will see what today brings. As the doctor said, "Did you forget you are in China now?"!!

Laura & Dale & Ellie,

What an ordeal, I can not even imagine... oh my. How I hope that it is just severe jet lag, or nerves. Okay, no more crazy Chinese Nights, onto pleasant and wonderful days.
